Looking back to February last year, it was a pleasure to cover Elisa & Tom’s Cooling Castle Barn Wedding in Kent. It’s always very exciting to shoot at a new venue and this was my first visit to Cooling Castle on a crisp, winter’s day. Wow, what a stunning Wedding venue! Elisa & Tom had met me previously at their friends wedding in Oxfordshire at the lovely Worton Hall. Referrals are such a huge compliment to receive and I also get to see my previous couples enjoying their friends big day and re-living their own. I arrived early at the venue, after an overnight local B&B to take in the wonderful atmosphere at Cooling Castle, before Tom and the wedding guests started to arrive early afternoon. The bridal party arrived and there was such beautiful light for Elisa’s entrance, via the stairs at the rear of the barn. The daylight hours in February were still pretty short, so we took the opportunity of doing a few informal, relaxed, natural couples portraits straight after the Wedding ceremony. Making an entrance back into the barn and greeted by their guests to start the short drinks reception. Before we all moved into the Wedding breakfast in the most magical barn you can imagine. Slipping out for a few minutes between courses, were even blessed with a stunning sunset to finish off the day! The evening started with a sparklers entrance and a night-time confetti throw! Dancing shoes were slipped on and it was ‘party time’ as the evening energy picked up again. What a fantastic day!
