Crown and Thistle Wedding – Katie & Will

Now my 2018 Wedding season is slowing down, its time to give my blog a little TLC….. it has been neglected for quite some time!

Looking back to October 2017, I had the pleasure of covering Katie & Will’s (& Malcolm their dog) big day at the lovely Crown & Thistle Inn, Abingdon. It’s got to be one of my favourite small venues, a carefully restored and modernised 17th Century coaching inn, near the River Thames and is always a pleasure to work at. With a quaint courtyard, atmospheric barn & rooms that have a very homely feel, it is a wonderful place to be married. I love working in small preparation rooms, with great window light, full of Wedding day excitement and nerves. The preparation room, overlooked the courtyard and gave the girls plenty of opportunity to check out the guests as they arrived before the ceremony. Malcolm took centre stage during the wedding ceremony, delivering the rings with enthusiasm, followed by a drinks reception held in the courtyard outside. The picturesque Abbey Gardens in Abingdon, is just round the corner, so we took Malcolm for short walk before dinner and even got “photobombed by batman” on a bike! There was a great atmosphere on the dance floor in the evening, especially after the wedding party mash-up during the first dance and a few night-time couple portraits late on to finish with
