As the Winter snow falls outside, a summer wedding blog to warm you up! Her’s a little look back to last summer, on a blisteringly hot June day, for Adam & Steve’s Old Swan & Minster Mill Wedding.
Their special day took place at the stunning Cotswold Wedding Venue of The Old Swan & Minster Mill. Located in the beautiful village of Minster Lovell, in the heart of rural West Oxfordshire. I had first met Adam & Steve a few months earlier, on one of their previous visits to Oxfordshire. Which just just happened to be probably the coldest day of the year! Definitely 2 extremes on the temperature scale! We headed off to the nearby Minster Lovell ruins, a stone’s throw from The OSMM, to shoot a few pre-wedding images. It was also a great chance to chat about their Mid-Summer Nights Dream Themed Wedding plans, until those cold temperatures started to bite!
Arriving early and I had a chance to wander the grounds for a while, before joining up with the grooms preparations in The Minster Mill. Their outdoor wedding ceremony took place in the beautifully decorated temple alongside the River Windrush. With an afternoon of drinks on the lawns & duck racing to follow…..
During the afternoon drinks reception, the Famous Old Swan & Minster Mill Duck Race took place. I just loved the rainbow ducks! Brilliant fun was had & not surprizingly very competitive after a few glasses of Champaign!
As the guests headed over to the Wedding breakfast room. We found a little time for Adam & Steve to take a short, relaxed walk around the grounds. A time to chill for a while in the warm sunshine. Whilst surrounded by the backdrop of the River Windrush. It was great to see the rainbow flag was flying proudly on the flag post during the day. The Wedding breakfast room itself had been set-up with Malt Whiskey Table names – what a brilliant idea! However quite dangerous so early in the afternoon!
Whilst all the wedding guests enjoyed tucking into the wonderful food and finishing off those bottles of malt whiskey! I had a chance to get some fresh air and wander around the grounds again all by myself. So lovely as the intense heat of the day started to drift away and there was nobody else around….
Great speeches to finish off the wedding breakfast, followed by energetic outdoor games. As a result of the earlier Whiskey drinking games, fishing the croquet balls out of the river became a new sport! The day drifted away, but a high energy dane floor was a brilliant way to finish off the celebrations!
Adam & Steve chose a stunning 14″x10″ Fine Art Wedding Album as part of their coverage. Complimented by 7″x5″ downscaled parent books. Here is a little video of the albums I put together…
