Katie & Ben’s Marquee Wedding was held on a beautiful summer’s day last August in Oxfordshire – here’s a little look back at their story…..
I travel great distances sometimes for my Weddings & it was so nice to be able to cover the most local of all Weddings I have ever done! So close in fact I could have cycled down if I didn’t need to carry all my heavy camera around. I did get my bicycle out a few days before to meet Katie & Ben setting up their marquee at Shaken Oak Farm in Ramsden, where they make fantastic award winning Mustards!
My wedding photography coverage started with Katie’s preparations in the village of Hailey near Witney in the morning for a couple of hours. Before I nipped across the road to The Lamb & Flag (many times I have frequented this pub over the years!). I found the first couple of ushers (checking their lists), before Ben & the rest of the boys arrived for a few pre-ceremony drinks & welcome the early guests, before heading off down the road to the church. St John the Evangelist Church, Hailey is only a short walk, I dropped back in to see the final preparations before Katie left for the church. There is always quite a bit of rushing about on a Wedding day, but for once it was great to use my legs and not the car! The ceremony seemed to fly by (as they always do!), I followed Katie & Ben for a quiet moment after exiting church, whilst the guests filtered out to form the confetti line. The large Marquee, the food, the drink & afternoons entertainment was only a very short drive from the Church. I do love farms, living on the edge of the Cotswolds as I do, my countryside walks are always very special. So it was great to explore and enjoy a short walk with Katie & Ben during their drinks reception. We were then treated to a stunning Oxfordshire sunset in the evening! Shortly afterwards the evenings wild dancing started up, which is always great fun to dive in and get close to all the crazy dance moves!
Here are a few images to tell their Marquee Wedding story. What a great day, I loved every minute!
