Amy & Adam’s Salcombe Harbour Hotel Wedding…
What a stunning day it was back in April for Amy & Adam’s Wedding in Salcombe, Devon…. and what a difference a day makes, wet, misty windy & cold in the morning, by late afternoon it felt like the height of Summer! I am passionate about being by the sea and when I first met Amy & Adam for the first time and they described their Wedding ideas to me, I knew this day would be special! All the little touches they thought about and created for their day, the little favour paper boats, the message in a bottle guest book and that amazing Camper Van cake! The impromptu trip to the beach just before the first dance in near darkness, has got to be one of my most favourite memories from any Wedding…
I asked Amy to describe her Wedding in just a few words…..
‘Since I was a little girl my family have been visiting Salcombe reguarly and it became a special place for Adam and I too. In fact Adam proposed to me at “Snapes Point” in Salcombe. As soon as we were engaged, we knew we had to get married here. We love the outdoors / walking / being by the sea, so it fit perfectly. for our Colour schemes and flower choices etc we stuck to “grey blues” & “grey greens” to keep in harmony with the surroundings. Emma Vowels was great and helped us achieve a “loose” theme with the flowers. We wanted them to be as natural as possible – asthough we had just gone into a field and pulled up lots of wild flowers. We had wax flowers in our hair as they are hardy and can be found on the coast. Cliff house was the perfect place for the ceremony for us – at the centre of Salcombe and has so much charm and character and of course amazing views and it wasn’t difficult choosing the reception venue either – Salcombe Harbour Hotel. We also wanted to inject some fun into the wedding so created the Camper Van Photo-booth, in honour of our beloved Maggie the VW Camper and a very good friend created the Camper Wedding Cake. The hotel were really helpful with our food choices which were beautifully prepared and presented – you can’t have a wedding by the sea and not opt for Fish & Chips!! 🙂
