Pre-Wedding Portraits – what’s all that about!

Friday 28th May:

All my Wedding Packages come with a complimentary pre-Wedding Portrait session included. These are great little mini Portrait sessions, usually a couple of months prior to the Wedding Day. Although I have shot pre-Wedding sessions well in advance because the Bride and Groom wanted to use their images on the Wedding invites, which is a really nice personal touch I thought.

We get a chance to discuss the Wedding Day in fine detail and how the Photography fits in with the flow of the day. Then comes the “scary” bit , the photo-shoot. It’s very common for couple to feel quite uneasy at the thought of this, but we just try to have a really relaxed and fun time. I talk to couples during the shoot, explaining what I’m trying to do, showing the images on the back of the camera and just having a fun time. After every session the concensious is that it was a really worthwile hour, far scarier than on the Wedding Day, when all your friends, family and a few drinks are near-by and of course you get another set of great images!

It’s very popular for couples to decide to have their free 10″x8″ print mounted, framed and displayed at the Wedding Reception, so that guests can sign their best wishes to the couple instead of a more traditional Guest Book.

Important tip: Always add a frame(without the Glass!!), or draw a line to the mounted picture , because there is always a small area of mount lost when framed…. inevitably guests will use all the picture mount area for their comments, some might just get cut off when you have it framed later!

For examples of previous pre-Wedding shoots, I have a gallery here:
