Bonnie + Philip | St John’s College, The Divinity School Oxford & Thame Barns Centre
It was a beautiful day back in May this year, despite the forecast of rain, for Bonnie & Philip’s Oxford College and Divinity School Wedding. In a slightly unusual format, my day started with meeting Philip & guests at St John’s College Oxford for a Champaign & Cake gathering. St John’s is where Bonnie & Philip met, so it was a natural location to host this gathering and a great way to introduce both families & friends to each other, as Philip’s side came from Germany & Bonnie’s from Canada. Then came Bonnie’s emotional entrance! Such a relaxed an informal couple of hours documenting the festivities. During the reception, I took Bonnie & Philip for a walk around the beautiful gardens of St John’s College, full of colour in early May and to one spot in particular where Philip had proposed a few months earlier. There was time for a few family groups photos and an ‘everyone’ picture before the whole Wedding party walked the short distance to the magnificent 15th Century Divinity School at Oxford’s Bodleian Library.
What a setting to hold your Ceremony! The vaulted celling, stunning architecture and amazing acoustics’ where stunning when the solo violinist played and the rapturous reception that Bonnie & Philip received on their exit after the ceremony had to be heard to be believed! There was a lot of emotion flowing when everyone greeted the Bride & groom afterwards, before a bubble tunnel like no other. The evening reception was held a little way out of Oxford at Thame Barn’s Centre, so whilst the guests found their seats on the bus time for a few shots of Bonnie & Philip in the nearby Radcliffe Camera Square. With the speeches over the barrel’s of German Pilsner beer started to disappear. Wishing you both the very best for the future……..
What a beautiful day!
