Back in February, I shot a Love My Dress session for Claire, who owns a replica Violet Dress as seen in the film Young Victoria at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire, starring Emily Blunt. Claire had loaned the dress for the duration of the exhibition at Blenheim Palace, but also gained permission for a private photo shoot at Blenheim. So a few days prior to the exhibition, we met up in Woodstock, along with Sally Crouch (a very experienced & talented make-up artist, who also works on many film & tv productions). The interior of the Palace is closed during the early part of every year for maintenance, but we were allowed access a few days before the season started with the opening of the exhibition, many rooms were un-avaialble due to the maintenance & a large part of the library was being dressed for the exhibition, however we still found plenty of opportunity inside & out. The dress was then placed on display for Blenheim’s “Camera, Lights, Action” exhibition, which celebrated many films where Blenheim was used as a location such as The Young Victoria (2008), Gulliver’s Travels (2010), and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (2007).

Wonderful photos of Claire at Blenheim – had the privilege of going there with her to view the exhibition just before it closed. Of course the dress looks so much more impressive with Claire inside it, but your camera captured the extraordinary fabric, the magnificence of the palace, the fairy-tale atmosphere, as well as your lovely model!
