Saturday 11th August 2012:
What a glorious Summer’s day it was back in August for Emma & Tim’s vintage inspired DIY Wedding at the charming & unique Friar’s Court in Clanfield, Oxfordshire. I just adore photographing Weddings at the quaint, Cotswold surroundings of Friar’s Court with it’s history dating back as far as 1142! They allow, bride & groom’s the freedom to create their perfect Wedding, from the rustic barn to the extensive beautifully kept gardens, moat & nature walk, there always seems endless hidden areas to explore. I arrived on a hot summers day, to the sound of Emma & the bridesmaids laughing out loud from an open upstairs window (I guessed the Champaign had just been opened!!) This definitely set the tone for the day, so much fun & relaxed enjoyment and so much work & attention to detail that Emma & Tim had added for their rustic DIY Wedding day in the Cotswolds. With paper bouquets & button holes, vintage table accessories & a Tombola set up for the best mans speech it was indeed a visual feast for me not knowing what to take first! I also admit to having Converse All-Star envy! 🙂
The guests arrived, settled into position for a beautiful outdoor Ceremony, followed by afternoon tea & such an array of homemade cakes it felt just like the British Bake off competition. With the garden games in full swing I whisked Emma & Tim away for some shots around Friar’s Court & the nearby fields of gold… Everyone got settled into the Old barn for the Wedding Breakfast, with plenty of vintage sweets to tuck into before the fabulous Pie & Mash made an appearance, washed down with their own specially brewed cider in bottles with their own bespoke printed labels! Oh I can still smell that food now 🙂

I loved having the privilege of being Emma & Tim’s photographer for the day, such a lovely couple, I was made to feel enormously welcome by everyone & they were very understanding when I dragged them away to a nearby field for a few ‘in the country” shots! Here is just a few images from their amazing Wedding day:
